Example: Facebook, AOL Mail
Shareware: software distributed without initial charge but for which the user is encouraged to pay a nominal fee to cover support for continued use.
Example: Yahoo, Picnik
Open Source: of or relating to or being computer software for which the source code is freely available
Example: Abode, Java
Sometimes I use Abode.
Commercial Software: software that is produced for sale or that serves commercial purposes.
Example: Microsoft Word, Photoshop
